Small house located at 2318 Ford St. in Golden, Colorado. Built in 1873 by Edward L. Clough, constructed for $600. Sold in 1877 to Caroline Townsend, wife of Jefferson County Clerk Al Townsend. Sold in 1878 to Reuben Benton Hayward, a teamster for hire who was murdered in 1879. Full story published in the 2018 issue of Historically Jeffco Magazine. The photo shows the original side-gabled house with additions on each end, a portico over the front door, and a small porch. There is a porch light above the door and a mailbox on the wall next to the door.
